According to Chinese medicine, there is a correspondence between the back and the palm of the hand and its fingers with different organs of our body such as the intestine, the heart, the lungs, the liver and the kidneys.
This is why, when the different points on the hand are pressed, decompressed and massaged for a few seconds, as happens during a reflexology session, it is possible to have a reflex effect, on those other organs, freeing them from functioning poorly. The aim is to have a rebalancing effect and to alleviate pain and discomfort.
The technique of reflexology seems already to have been known about 5000 years ago, in India, China and in Egypt where, in the necropolis of Sakkara, an archaeological relic was found describing a massage of the hands and feet.
