The use of the ear auricle to treat other bodily organs has been known about since ancient times.

Indeed, according to the alternative medicine widely practiced in the Orient in particular, the ear is said to house various channels of energy reaching all the most important organs of the human body and which make these function. Stimulating particular points on the auricle has reflex effects on the corresponding organs.

We owe the rediscovery of auricular therapy to the French doctor Paul Nogier who recommended it as a treatment and published his first scientific study on the subject in 1956.

These days it is recognised by the World Health Organisation and it can be used to treat various disorders including insomnia, anxiety, eating disorders and those linked to posture and also smoking addiction.
