In order to approach <strong>the practice of meditation<\/strong> it is possible to start with the advice of the Dalai Lama, using these apparently simple gestures to become familiar with an age-old practice handed down through all the histories of religion and which is still with us today.<\/p>\n<p> It serves <strong>to rid the mind<\/strong> of too many thoughts and to stay in the present moment in which we are living, in the here and now.<\/p>\n<p> There are <strong>many ways of meditating<\/strong>, but the simplest one to learn is to pay attention to our own <strong>breathing<\/strong>, to the air entering and leaving the body, which can be perceived as a wave.<\/p>\n<p> When breathing in we can imagine we are taking in white light, sending it all through<strong> the body regenerating<\/strong> us and recharging our batteries.<\/p>\n<p> Then, when we breathe out, we can imagine<strong> we are expelling every impurity from our body and our mind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Learning to practise this technique over time induces a <strong>sensation of calm, relaxes our muscles, improves our decision-making skills<\/strong>, making us less impulsive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cross-legged or in the lotus position, a straight back with the hands touching the legs and the eyes half-closed.
